Hello All,
I would like to say hello to all of the membership on the site and take my hat off to all of you that have undertaken the laborious and time consuming job of restoring your beloved SeaCrafts. I for one am totally impressed by the craftsmenship and attention to detail that you have all exhibited. I found this site from a friend here Named BillyBob who keeps his boat in my home port in Milford Harbor, CT. Bill is a great guy and has some incredible talent as evidenced by his flawless 23' resto project. I have always loved the SeaCrafts and hope to someday have one of my own to work on and enjoy. I don't believe there is a better Center Console fishing platform made today than the SeaCraft. And this is proven by the many hulls I see all the time on the water out in L.I. Sound and east to R.I., it is one of the most popular hulls used by the guides in our area. I have a Triton 20 CC which I purchased last Oct. and I have enjoyed it very much, it is not a SeaCraft but it gets me where I need to go and I have been very impressed with it's construction and seaworthiness. I hope to someday find and rebuild a SeaCraft 23 CC for the Sound and Montauk runs that I do so often. You all make the fiberglass projects look so easy and I truly am amazed at the quality of the work that you are all able to achieve given the surroundings that most are working in. I do know that it is not easy work and takes alot of patience and talent/practice as I used to work at one of the local marinas as a mechanic. I would love to learn how to work with fiberglass as I have a few projects for my current boat that I would like to do. Unlike most of your boats my boat is a rolled edge skiff design with the topsides roughly finished with a gelcoat spackle type of look (Balck/white) and any additional fiberglassing projects I have in mind I think would be difficult to match the look in the boat. I had some small crack repairs done last year and although the cracks were fixed the finish job is very visible and looks terrible as it stands out from the rest of the interior finish. I am a perfectionist and anything I would do to the boat would have to look OEM or else I would not do it.
Anyway I have rambled on enough, I would like to say again how impressive the work on this board is and I am very glad BillyBob directed me here to the site so that I could view the members projects. You should all be very proud of your accomplishments they are clearly showcased in the results.
