No...way too much pitch. 17 is about right but maybe a 19. What he means is that his boat likes to have the engine mounted high. Cavitation plate is above the transom, not level. This allows less drag and higher speed, less draft. I would bring them up a notch until you start to diminish it's handling in turns, then drop it one notch. I currently have my Zuki 4 inches above the transom and she runs like it is stock. 5" setback jackplate. You may want to get a plate, best couple hundred you can spend.
