Default LEAKS? BUT NOT SURE FROM WHERE?

I HAVE A 1984 20 SEACRAFT, I BOUGHT IT ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO IT SANK. TOTALLY DISGUSTED I LET THE BOAT SIT. ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE OFFERED TO GO INTO PARTNERS WITH ME ON THE SEACRAFT. HE PUT A T-TOP, NEW ELECTRICAL, 2001 200 EVINRUDE...HE LAUNCHED FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN I WAS OUT OF TOWN. IT SANK THE NEXT DAY!! I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT SEACRAFTS ESPECIALLY OLDER ONES HAVE LEAKS IN THE THRU HOLE FITTINGS AND OTHER AREAS THRU OUT THE HULL. COULD ANY ONE GIVE SOME ADVICE AS TO WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO INSURE THERE ARE NO LEAKS. AND HOW TO FIX IT. THANKS, JW
