G-Loomis / Billy Pate

Any Fly Guy's Here ?I Meen Fly FisherPeople ,I recently acquired(?$?) a G-Loomis Fly Rod 9' 9 Wt. Cross Current Pro 1- 1 piece Fly Rod & a GLX 9' 8 WT. 1 piece.I also have 2 Billy Pate Fly Reels (1)tarpon/(1)Bonefish
Heres My Deliema ,1 Piece ! Man0Man ,I can break a 6' Stand Up Trolling Rod, is there an advantage to a 1 piece over a 2 piece besides breaking down /storage etc.?I wanted one to try a lil flying offshore ,lil' more than I expected.I have NO Idea of Fly Fishing, The last time 've used one was in Louisiana at bout' 8 years old & it was used as a fly/flipp'n'/cane pole etc.
Should I swap ,are they matched to the reels OK ?
