Default horizontal rod racks

Alright guys, I have a question for any of you with the Potter era 20's that are into fly fishing: how do you store your 9' fly rods?? I had the inner liner of my boat cut out and the gunnels widened, so this does not directly affect me, but I know of several people who are considering these boats and I can see how that would be a sticking point considering that leaving the liner intact does not allow many options for storing the long rods.

Are the "windows" where the original rod racks were long enough if the rod tips were allowed to enter in towards the anchor locker?

What other solutions have you come up with?
