Default Re: Why did I buy this stuff ???

Hey Scott-

If my memory serves me correctly, Isothalic resin is the best grade of polyester resins (strength, shrinkage, etc). Many of the top boat builders use isothalic resin.

Vinylester resin is considered to be a better quality resin because it resists blisters better and has a higher heat tolerance. Most boat builders only use vinylester resin in engine compartments, or other critical areas because it costs more than isothalic resin.

I am not sure what you have left to do on your boat, but I am sure the isothalic resin will work fine.

Also had some gelcoat and wax additive in the garage over the winter ...the really cold winter .... do you think the temperatures did anything to them ....before I find out the hard way ???
