Can't speak of the new motors but Back in '87 I put a 175 Yammy on my 1970 20' CC. It can top out at 52 MPH if and that's a big if the water is calm enough. At 50+mph it gets very light when the Long Island Sound isn't dead calm.

The Yammy has been trouble free in salt water since '87.
The 175 seems to dig much better then the 150's , I don't know why the extra horses make such a difference but they do. I am big on water skiing and the 175 will rip your arms out of their sockets if you jump on it.
