Default painting of hull

I got a quote yesterday to paint the outside hull of my 20.

I quess I went into it with a lower expectation about the $$ price and before going with it I wanted to get some input from some of you which have gone thru it already.

I was quoted $3500 to do the outside only.

This envolved sanding down the hull, spraying a expo barrier coat, primer and then the color.

Apparently the prior owner did a terrible job in his paint job of which I HATE the color ( dark green) and also not a traditional seacraft color.

Does this sound about right?

Any input or suggestions would be helpfull.

Or maybe someone can chine in on someone in south florida to go get additional estimates. I can drive the boat up but don't really want to drive 1000 miles to get it done
