Flat-line clip placement

Well dolphin season is here and I have decided to install some flat-line clips for trolling. I am thinking of installing them on the transom on either side of the motor so that they will not get in the way. But if I put them there one may get ripped off by someone climbing on the swim platform, or they may be too close to my center "shotgun" line...SO

Does anyone have experience with these?

Also, what is the best way to mount them?
