Transom Repair-estimate cost

I am about to embark on a transom repair. I have been reading all the great posts on this subject but the only thing I haven't really seen is how much people spend on this repair. I know diffent boats have different circumstances but just looking for a ball park figure.

Just curious as to how much some of you do-it yourself-ers have spent on doing a full transom repair (from the outside)? How about those of you that had it professionaly done?
