Weather on Staurday was nice so my friend Bill and I opted to head out on Sunday, weather was still nice but the 10-15kt wind offshore is being felt in my lower back today...
Headed out of Newport on my trusty Whaler at 0600 went 75 miles south near little fishtails. Uneventful trip out amazed and shocked not to of seen any other boats. Lines in at 0900 10 mins into the troll 1 40lb longfin/albacore in the box. 1000 one quick run off and a miss, 1200 all hell break loose and 4 rods go off....2 people on board and the cockpit sounds like my alarm clock on acid. Pick up first rod, drag sticks...snap, one down. Hand the next rod to Bill and he gets another 40 lb Longfin in the box, hand Bill the next rod, and another longfin in the box, since he was 3 for 3 I handed the last rod to Bill and before falling to deck in exoustion he lands a 45-50lb longfin in the box. lines in after the 4th fish at 1250 and we steam home. Spotted hundreds of mahi on the flyers and a fridgidare at the 700 line. some pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
