Where/how to cut deck in 1980 20 ft MA

Folks - As mentioned before I am a novice at this boat repair game so am learning as I go. I saw several posts on deck repair but it was hard to tell exactly where to cut etc. I just got the CC out and motor off yesterday. I am about ready to cut the deck. Any suggestions on where to cut (How far in from drain gutter), use skill saw or other method? How deep to cut? Do I Seperate coffin from deck or try to pull it out with deck?? THX!
