I`ll be mounting mine next week. I got some 4 square 1x4 teak and made some pads to permanently mount to to the deck and screwed the post on top. I then wrapped the pads in plastic and taped some plastic on the deck. I shot a whole tube of white caulk on the bottom of the pads and put the post where I wanted it.. 2 batteries on top. This made cants for the crown and pitch in the deck for a nice level fit, and less stress on the deck.
