1979 master angler 20 with 2000 hpdi 200

I bought this boat with the set up listed. It has lift brackets on it to accomodate the 25" shaft, however, I just don't like the way that that top bolts on the plates are not bolted to the transom and there appears to be a little flexing goin on in that area of the plates. I wanted to try and find something (bracket, stringer etc.) to span the the width of the well and bolt into the top holes on the brackets and motor to reduce any transom strain. Can anyone give some advice?
