Default Newbie 1978 MA- Helpppppp!

This is my first post and I have never owned a boat this large. I had a chance to buy it very very cheap so I googled Sea Craft and came upon your site. I had no idea that I would find a following of Sea Craft boat owners. The motor looks rough but actually runs quite well and all the cylinders have good compression. I had a friend that works on motors check it out for me. After reviewing your site I walked it over good (290 lbs worth) and felt no soft spots. My motor friend said the transom felt solid. I have enclosed several pictures and would appreciate any input. I would like to paint the bottom with antifouling paint as it will be in salt water and you can see by the picture it needs paint. Also considering painting the inside and I see that awl grip is very popular. I would like input if this is the right choice. And what about the outside above the water line. I am new to boating on salt water and will take the coast guard course. I am handy with most all tools power and hand and have a large garage to work in. All I need is information from all you experts out there. I see where many have restored the older models MA's

Thanks
