Quick Question: 23' SF Inboard

I am in the process of a repower for my boat and have it in the shop (have not yet put it in the water since purchase) and I noticed that there are two small holes in the floor in the each back corner. I think they are for the "self bailing cock pit" but I am not sure. I know they were put there for a reason, but do I need plugs for them or should I not be worrying. This may be a very dumb question but I hadn't noticed them until today. Thanks!
