Shoot Through Transducer

Hello again all!

I have a 23’ seacraft. The transducer is mounted on my transom between twin 150 merc efis. The transducer occasionally loses bottom while trolling, and does not read the bottom at any more than about 6kts. I am considering getting a new transducer that shoots through the hull. How difficult will the installation be on a shoot through transducer on the 23 Seacraft? Hull is a 1998. Not a classic, I know. Thanks for any help of guidance.
