Default First Time Boat Project

Well I figured I would start a thread on my first boat project. I am sure I'm gonna have quite a learning experience doing this boat. I will be copying repair procedures that I have seen in numerous threads on here and the Classic Mako site during this project. I promise I will be asking numerous stupid questions also.

Here is the boat when I got it home.

Here it is on a new trailer and after pressure washing the years of dirt and mildew off.

Is this just factory foam that was put under the cap and is this normal for it to be in this shape for a boat of this age?

The cap has many stress cracks also.

The deck has many soft spots and stress cracks. The entire deck will be cut out and replaced as soon as cash allows.

Found this trim tab motor underneath the console seat. Hopefully it is still good and will save me some money.

I hate the way the glasswork looks buy the side boxes in front of the transom. Hopefully the transom was done right. I will have it looked at by a professional after I get the floor done.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to fill this horrible looking gap between the floor and hull sides with?

The previous owner had a new fuel tank made which never had fuel in it. I will remove it and paint it. I think I will spray it to get the practice since I have never used a spray gun before.

Well that's all the progress so far. I will post as many pics as possible during this so feel free to give criticism and advice.

Thanks for viewing,
Ken
