Default Re: Downrigger install?

You may want to post a picture of your transom layout. My 23 CC was pretty easy. I also have a closed in transom. I had left the factory set up and just added to it when it was closed in. With that, I have 2 small sections in the transom where I was able to mount the downrigger. This is the area towards the gunnel near the small hatch/baitwell in the stern. Yes, it does not allow the hatch to open all the way but it does let it open so the lid is verticle. I just need to hold it up when I am digging in there. I also already had an access hole on each side so I did not have to drill anything either. My Penn Manual Downrigger fit perfect.

Now if I would replace the handle that bumped the dock I could even use it again....
