Fuel filler hose replacement

Been there, done that.
Use a hose nipple and clamp the old and new hoses together at the gunwale. Don't cut the new hose to exact length until it's in place. Then pull the new hose into place using the old hose as the guide/snake. Make sure you clamp securely. Simple. Not easy, but simple.

So what you are saying is to thread the inch and one half I.D. hose DOWN from the gunwale to the tank after connecting it securely to the old hose? I have connected the old and new hose with tie wraps and have been trying to pull up from the tank to the gunwale and it's just not working.
