Default 1989 Yamaha Excel V-6 (225 hp) Keep or Scrap??

Wanted to get some opinions on this older engine. Is it hard to get replacement parts for this engine? How about a lower unit for instance? What about a good cond. used LU?

This motor is carb. Will it survive on E-85 fuel? If so will it require a bunch of maint?

The reason I ask... This is the current motor on our boat. Just got the boat back from my brother. Motor ran fine last time out, albeit 5 years ago!!

A small crack in the Lower Unit casing has GROWN. Now it comprimizes the LU. No way it could be welded.

Pictures later today.
