Ask for an "Agreed Value" policy. My '72 Seafari with '07 90 hp Optimax and galvanized trailer is insured for an agreed value of $9,800 with a $250 total loss deductible and $500 repair deductible. No survey required. Annual cost is $357 keeping it on a trailer at home; it would have been $413 if I kept in in/out dry storage, and $665 if I kept it in the water at the dock.
Our insurance is now with Boat U.S. after State Farm began dropping all non-auto insurance in Florida. The cost is a little higher than we had with State Farm. Boat U.S. does not value the hull, motor, and trailer separately.
