It might be too far back to remember, but here goes. Earlier in January of 2009 i posted on a fiberglass bulge on my 1970 hull sides. Well after narrowing down on why it occurred, i have just now (months later) started attacking the problem. Here's where i need some help! I need some good photos of the hull side transition point from bow flare to stern tumblehome for reference. Since both my port and starboard sides have the same problem its kind of difficult to visualize what it should look like, so any pictures you might have right at about 5' from the stern would be helpful. I know it's a lot to ask but not knowing any other way of getting this i said lets try it! My second option would be to go to BassPro and take a couple of photos of there 20's. Thanks in advance. Here are pictures of what i have done, i've had to somewhat butcher the sides to get it back in "fair" shape.
![]() ![]() How it all began! Bulge is the shadowy area. ![]() Cut a series of horizontal slits in it and one vertical to alleviate tension and for some controlability when i re-form it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The three last pictures are after i took the wooden strongback off. I kind of made it to the shape i thought the transition would have. It seems to be working out. I;m glassing it in sections then ill tie it all together with 1708 where it will finish holding the true shape...hopefully. Input guys!! Your opinion is valued! Thanks in advance. oh the pictures are so i can get a better transition...by trying to match it ![]()
