center console location

hello everyone. Thak you for allowing me to join your site. I have a quick question, I have a, you geussed it, 1969 secraft 20. The console seems to be located pretty far back in the boat (30" from splash well to console ). Is this correct for my year. My buddy has a 1971 and his console is probably 18" further forward. The problem is that with a 150 v max on there it sits concerningly low in the water at the back of the boat and the front is to light. hard to manuver in the wind.
