Default Repower for 72' CC 250 enough?

He guys I am going back and forth in the debate about what I am looking fo re-power with. I bought the "Green Runner" (here is an old for sale thread from thehulltruth http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sa...-seacraft.html ) which I have seen talked about on here and another sight before. When they rebuilt that I am pretty sure they overbuilt everything (which is great). It holds about 230 gallons of fuel, not that I would ever carry that I don't think. I am thinking it will average about 80 gallons of fuel. It has a 45 gallon livewell towards the transom. So fuel and a full livewell alone will add about 800lbs.

The boat has a bracket which originally had twins on it. When I used the boat this year it had twil 200 merc efi's. The thing was a rocket ship, much faster than I needed. Also it was terrible on fuel.

I am looking to poll the experts on whether you think 250 will be enough power or not. I want to be able to cruise between 25-30 with a load and I will be more than happy. I don't want the boat to be a dog that struggles under a load or has trouble getting on plane.

What do you guys think?
