Default Project Hull Cost

I am looking to find a 20' ma/sf to restore in the next couple of years. My dad will retire in 3 years and would like to restore a boat with him to possibly have done when he retires. If not we could finish it then. I am not in a hurry. I would like to do a complete tear down to the stringers and close the transom in. How much should I be able to pick up a hull for? Or a better question is how much is too much for a 20 hull that you are going to strip down to bare bones? Thanks for your help. This is a great site.
