Wouldn't it be easier to just stand the hull on its nose and put the transom straight up in the air? It would eliminate the use of all those rope. You would need a really tall ladder though! LOL!!

Or,you could have glued a big piece of sand paper to the floor,then stood the boat up on the transom and slid the boat back and forth on the paper.Changing grits would have been a pia though.
