Question Transducer Placement

OK I know it has been recorded in history here someplace, but I thought I would ask anyway.

I just got a airmar b60 thru hull transducer. Instructions are pretty clear cut, but....

1. i/o mount just forward of engine
2. Mount in a well cooled ventilated space...OK
3. If boat is capable of 25 and above-Review the installation location and operating results of similar boat...This is where I am asking for HELP!

The reason is that I know that most of the time I will run at 25 to 30 so if I am out cruising to the grouper holes I guess I would like to see the bottom in case there is new structure. Normally I understand that at slower speeds is how you should be using when fishing.

Thoughts?
