Its really easy to tell, open the boat up and see what its getting for rpm. I know entourage was swinging i believe a 17p stainless prop and RPM range was 4400-4800. If the boat is not getting the bow down quick enough then that means you need a better wholeshot. Go down in pitch, if you are running a 17P go to a 15P. This can make a world of difference. Keep in mind going down in pitch will get you out of the hole quicker but you will lose a little on top end. (most of the time not all)
