Understood, yeah that's a little different. I only have 3 rod holders on the leaning post and I have 5 on t top. A lot of times I'll have 10-12 rods on board and I have at times laid rods flat on the top, to get them away from the gunnels in case a fish ended up on the deck(I usually have lid in bow ready)
Just my 2 cents, but I would think an arch would get in your way more than a t-top. A friend of mine bought a fancy leaning post for his Mako, that has the outside holders angled at about a 45 degree angle, which makes it impossible to walk around without doing the "limbo".
