Default 1979 Master Angler refurb

My boat is coming along. I decided not to narrow the original (large) console, but did remove forward seat. Guessing that was about 12”, or so. Currently have new fuel tank and everything associated installed, along with recoring of both hatches. Ready to replace console in hull and thinking about weight distribution. I’d like to slide 3” forward, where rear of console will no longer cover beginning of “gutters”, lowered surface of deck and not non-skid finished. I’m going with two group 24 batteries as forward as possible. The batteries were previously forward and under seat I’ve removed, so I have a lot of room to move forward. Seat will become a 72 quart cooler always full with adult beverages and ice. No livewell, other than original port side top of gunwhale. The forward casting platform is still intact, so I’m looking to get as far forward as possible (room to pass through), yet open up the rear deck more for fishing space and a small simple leaning post. Fortunately I have installed 8 rod/beer holders to top of gun whales, so LP will not require a whale tail. Any experience with how far forward to mount console, or go with my gut? I’m trying to get away with another season without trim tabs. Budget is BLOWN! Haha. Thanks.
