Default Pulled the trigger on my first seacraft

Been a lurker for a while and always wanted to get a a classic seacraft as I grew up with my grandfather having at least 3 23’s. Finally at 27 years old I bought my first. It’s a ‘72 20’ center console that I’m 99% sure started it’s life as seafari. I know a lot of you guys are hardcore seafari fans and hate to see them bastardized but the deed was long done before it was in my hands. Definitely needs some work and cleaning up. There’s quite a few changes I would like to make but I would like to try to get the summer out of it before tearing it apart. Anybody know of any build threads of anyone doing these conversions? I’ve done lots of reading and what not but any information on 72’s specifically seafaris would be appreciated. I have my concerns 1 major one being the placement of the tank and how it may affect weight distribution. The gunwale cap seems doesn’t have much flex but seems thin. Was there originally coring in these from the factory? The console is not in the greatest shape and probably could be saved without too much effort but whoever originally built it didn’t put too much effort into and it wasn’t much of a good start. Any threads of console builds or if anyone knows of anywhere I can reasonably get one in or to NJ I wouldn’t be opposed to just buying one. Any help, advice, or anything else anyone has to offer will be accepted and appreciated. Looking to turn this thing around. Thanks
