Default 1973 Seacraft Tsunami/Sceptre (Cuddy) - Excellent Condition - Potter Hull

Edited to add price: 15k.

This is my stepfather's boat of 45 years which we are selling because he never uses it any more now that kids and grandkids live in other cities. I have been keeping the boat in Tampa, FL and using it over the summer. We have enjoyed it and are moving up to a bigger, newer boat for my family with 4 young children. My stepfather will be sad to see this one go with so many memories -- we have taken this boat the Bahamas several times, I caught my first sailfish on this boat, first mahi-mahi, first wahoo, etc.....
  • Basics
    • 1973 Seacraft Tsunami/Sceptre: 23-foot cuddy cabin
    • Potter hull
    • Always garaged, covered, or high and dry—original top and cuddy cushions
    • Never bottom painted
    • Lovingly maintained by my stepfather who always treated her well over the last 45 years (!) and is only selling due to his older age and no children or grandchildren living in town to take boating; pretty sure only 1 previous owner before that
    • Turn-key and ready to run: my wife, young kids and I have enjoyed this boat over the summer and are buying a larger 33-foot express that is better suited to our family cruising needs with 4 young kids (seating etc.).
    • Comes with double-axle Rite-On trailer. Very well maintained, washed down meticulously after every dip, recently rebuilt.
    • In great overall condition and would really pop after a little cosmetic TLC
    • Located in Tampa, FL
  • Motors, electronics, etc.:
    • Garmin 6-inch GPS and Recorder; Transducer came with it; purchased in 2018 or 2019
    • Powered by 2005 Evinrude E-Tec 250; has approx. 800-1000 hours on the motor
    • VHF: Eclipse DSC+ GX1200, purchased in 2013
    • Penn Fathom-Master 600 downrigger
    • OMC Spare Motor Bracket (previously used with 15hp kicker)
    • Teak dive deck on port side
    • “Lee” 20-foot extendable fiberglass outriggers
    • In-floor live well in transom (not plumbed)
    • Also includes 3 deck chairs, 2 of which are purchased in the last 2-3 months
  • Significant Capital Investments
    • Transom rebuilt, stringers reinforced, and aluminum capped in 1993
    • Rite-on double-axle trailer. $1,700 rebuild in 2016.
    • Trim tab hydraulic power units replaced in 2015
    • Motor New EMM in 2016
    • Hull repainted in 1983
    • Hydraulic steering cylinder rebuilt / reconditioned on transom
  • Small needs
    • Some cosmetic fixes on paint and hull
    • Some cracks on gunwales where new transom was attached; just needs glasswork
    • Bilge pump needs a little tinkering from someone handier than I am
  • My stepfather available for detailed questions: PM me if you want his number
