Default Update

I haven't posted in awhile on my progress on my boat.
The last time I used the boat was over the July the 4th weekend that we stayed at my place in Islamorada.
Prior to this I was having a fuel delivery issue where the racor fuel filter would get clogged with either some black debris and or water. I took all the gas out of the tank ran It thru a filter and filtered it again before refilling it to the tank. I changed the racor filter and the various filters under the cowl.

The 1 day all was fine but towards the end of the day ...here we go again with the hasame issue.

I the bought a new racor assembly and fuel hose and changed one of the filters on the motor.
Ran great for most of the day but again clogged up.

When I got the boat home I said this is not happening again. I drained the fuel and took out the tank and cleaned the inside of the tank using 5 gallons of e90 gas some degreaser and dawn detergent. While doing this I changed the fuel line to the engine and got a new filter.

Once I started to get the last bit of cleaner out of the tank using a generic fule filter from Napa I used a cloth to see what came out... Some of the black crap that was clogging the filter.
The only thing I did not change was the 1 1/2 hose used to fill the tank. Took a look inside and there it is a deteriorating hose dumping crap into the tank.

Sorry for the long post but something so simple messed up my 10 day vacation.
