1989 18' CC Specs?

I am considering purchasing this boat without an engine. Does anyone have history on the hull manufacturer prior to going to Mako.
Was this built just as well after the CSY period?
The boat was apparently rated for a 150hp, how did the other 18' on the site get the 175 on her?
What is the fiberglass and stringer construction?
What are anyones recommendations on power? I have heard that the 115 may be underpowered. Are there any standard issues to look for in this model and year?

How does the boat ride and plane since I won't get a test ride.
