Hooper,
We've got Starboard as a transom gate on the Sceptre. The previous owner made a bi-fold gate out of varnished plywood, which looked like crap after a couple seasons. My father replaced with Starboard 3 seasons ago and it looks great. He went with 3/4" because it is now one-piece, so when folded down you step on it and it's not flat on the deck. I don't have any good pics of it to post, but if you're ever in the Hanover area let me know and I'd be happy to show you.
