George,

As That70sboat said, many people that really rip into the 20's also raise the floor a few inches to facilitate self bailing.

If you have the opportunity to ride in an older 20' that has not had the floor raised, I highly suggest you do so prior to making the decision not to raise the floor. There is simply no way to stand in the stern area of them without there being plugs in the scuppers with the original floor height unless you really enjoy wade fishing.
