Re gelcoating is very labor intensive therefore more expensive than paint.To get a good finish you have to sand with 220,then 400 then 600 then compound with two grades of compound then wax.With paint you prep,prime,sand,then spray the finish coat.The cost of a professionally applied paint job is expensive as you know so you imagine the cost of a gelcoat job.As with most things in life it comes down to $$$$$$$$$$!
