I have found that silicon doesn't work for crap. OH yes it say's it will last for 50 yr's. but it does NOT stick to anything after a short time. by all means if you want it to last use 5200 . Or life caulk....silicon was not made to be used on boat's, it's just a cheap quick fix. that's why boat yards[most] like to use it.
