I have to agree on the drainage. Check that the area is not a conduit for drainage. From the pictures it looked like we were looking at the bottom of the keelson which, moving aft, should become tighter to the hull than it is in this area. It would also be completely glassed in and not allow drainage. Sorry if I read the pictures wrong. Continued good luck on the repair.
