electronics boxes
Hi all,
Looking to find an electronics box this is not as thick/high as the majority of the offerings out there. I need it to be 29-30" wide by about 8" high - depth is negotiable. Any leads would be very appreciated. Thanks/ mark |

Re: electronics boxes
HA MARK
I AM JUST FINISHING UP MAKING ONE OUT OF MARINE PLYWOOD 3/8” WITH EPOXY FILLER & PAINT I MADE MINE 30” X 18” BY 7 ˝” HIGH I ONLY WILL USE IF FOR A DRY BOX NOT FOR ELECTRONICS. I ALSO DIDN’T WANT IT TO BE TO LOW FROM THE BRACKET ON THE T-TOP I LIKE TO SEE THE SKY AND THE OCEAN. MOST OF THE BOXED HINDER MY VISION. I HAVE SEEN SOME STORE BOUGHT BOXED IN SOME OF THE MARINE HARDWARE PLACES FOR ABOUT $250 TO $400 RANGE. I HAD SOME LEFT OVER MATERIALS FROM MY RE BUILD JOB AND DECIDED TO DO MY OWN. IT WAS A LITTLE HARDER TO DO THAN I FIRST THOUGHT BECAUSE OF WORKING IN THE INSIDE OF THE BOX SINCE IT WAS SO SHORT. THE BONDING FILLING AND SANDING AND PAINTING PROCESS IN THE INSIDE SAW A TEST OF PATIENCE FOR ME. FELLOW-SHIP |

Re: electronics boxes
Mark, Todd makes two different sizes. I think you can find them in the boatus catalog. Not badly priced either.

Re: electronics boxes
Mark - you can easily make this out of a material called Starboard. I have used this to replace most of my teak on my console. It is easier than wood to work with. Cut up a few pieces on the table saw, round over the edges with a router, screw them together and you should be in good shape. Here is the link for the company. I bought from a local distributor - West Marine was way overpriced.

Don - nice site, really nice looking stuff. I will give you a call about a t-top next year - trying to get one more year out of the old one.
