Otto,
Had spray rails on my 23. They are great, reduce the spray in the boat a lot. Now if you want to get wet its not going to stop it but for the most part I really like them.
Was told the way they are installed is you take a teak strip and screw it to the hull at 12 " centers, then the next strip screws thru the first strip and also into the hull, just off-set the hole centers. The subsequent layers will then only attach to the previous wood strips, keep off-setting the screw centers. Use a sealer like 4200 on the first strip and the holes on the 2nd. The guy who showed me this is a boat builder who appears to know what he spoke of.
