Default Re: 1974 23 CC I/O

LT DAN

Your probably right on the prices - they're a bit higher up here 'cause ther aren't many around. And to add insult to injury I willingly over-paid because I wanted her. Actually I was thinking in the 8 range - but again you're right - the distance is a bit much.

I wish you the best of luck finding your baby. You sound like the kind of guy that will cherish one of these fine boats and take care of it the way she should be taken care of.

I sincerely want to thank you for your kind words and wise philosophy - you really made me feel better. I was actually a bit choked up when I wrote the posting last night but maybe it will work out somehow.

Please keep me apprised of the results of your search. I don't know if you ever owned one before but I've been through a 1975 18 footer (utterly fantastic - I fished her out as far as 40 miles when I was young, dumb and a lot braver) and a 1988 20 footer (not as good but still heads and tails over the competition - by that time Bill Potter had sold out and I think Bass Tracker was building them) I know that the 23 is the ultimate small CC and you will be more impressed each time you go out - and so will your buddys. Especially if you ever get caught in six and seven footers like I did one day in the 18.

Again my best wishes and thanks for the reply.
