JOHN R:

YES & NO--There's this spot in the BAY, alway's good fish right under everyone's nose, but they all fish the wrong way. most that fish that spot don't like getting their feet wet, to bad because they don't know what their missin. Waters only 3-4' deep, but the bigen's hang out aways off the beach. the rat's come in close and that's what most of the people catch. The only problem with that spot is your 1/2 mi. off the beach an the fog rolls in , w/out a compass your dead meat may as well have put a black bag over your head an hope the tide is going to float you to shore, but it's worth it just the same. I've only got caught once with my paint's down there, night time in the fog,in coming tide. I'll never leave home again w/out my compass.

Steve-

I'm reading your fishing posts and trying to crack your language! Call me Jack Ryan out of the latest Tom Clancy movie! Didn't know you fished up north also. I have worked for Don Parker on the Prime Rate for years on and off both in the cockpit and most recently running the show. I do like it up there, but the south is where it's at for me. I have the boat getting some engine work done now, I think I have a water in fuel problem despite my new Ryacor filter. I'll fill you in later. I can't wait to get back out there!

All for now, Hooper.

Steve - I could make a guess or too but I wouldn't want to cloud Hoop's thinking

John R,
Those particular snappers have a 10 fish per person limit
and must be over 12" in length. They ran 15-18 inches.
They came out of 140 feet of water off of Port Canaveral
and taste just wonderful (although I am partial to the Mahi's).
Everyone on board limited out snapper Sat, going back out
on Thurs again.

Marc

As the guys here will tell you, there are plenty of SeaCrafts off shore fishing on a regular basis for giants. The spot lately has been the BB bouy (about 35nm SE of Monomoy and 25nm east of Nantucket). In fact the guy who I bought my 23 from fished there all the time. But, you really need to pick your days b/c that run in when it turns nasty can be awful. He took 14 market fish from this thing. I'm not sure if I am ready to run out there in this yet . I need more time to become confident in the boat and all its' systems first. But the guys who run s/c's offshore do very well. Steve, aren't the guys like yourself who run aroung Chatham called the "Mosquito Fleet"??? Got Wings ???? -Hooper
