Default Re: Bracketed 23 Sceptre

Scott, Is your dad's Sceptre a Potter built boat? Mine is the CSY boat and I don't think that the Potter built boats are as bow heavy as the CSY ones. I have allready installed a jack plate with the 5" set back. My boat doesn't have the live well in the deck, however it does have a storage area that is empty which is located just aft of the cabin door. The gas tank has been moved soo far back that it is only about 1'6" from the transom. The only thing that I have in the bow is the cushions and life jackets. The anchor and rope is also in the very bow, but I need for it to stay there.

Lost,
My father has an '82 CSY as well (see the opening page of this site). However, he has the 144 gal tank which runs right up to the edge of the cabin door. I'm not sure why you're still getting the bow-down problem with your tank shifted so far back and the engine on a jack plate .

SottM, What's Up? Just a short hello to let you know the Beast took its first breath last week! If you're still interested check out the www.speedskiffs.com site. In a day or so I should be opening page. Can't find topic where I last posted to you.
