Default Re: New to board, interior paint questions

Welcome to the site

Have you done a search for the info??? If not there is a ton of stuff that has been discussed about painting with one and two part paints. As far as instruction ... Go to some of the manufactures website as they may have prep info (Petite Us paints/Awlgrip, Sterling , Interlux) I have hard copies of prep and paint info from Interlux, Awlgrip , Sterling (Sterling paints tech staff is exceptionally helpful with questions)

There is a video out by Bennett Marine Videos that shows the process from prep work to the final topcoat
Also John Greviskis from Ship Shape TV has done several shows about this process (again I think he used Awlgrip) I think if you go to his website you can purchase these videos ....Books are a great foundation .... but seeing someone do it "real time" is invaluable

FellowShip ...a member here has painted his whole boat (roll and tip) he has (and I'm sure will add to this) shared tons of valuable first hand experience as a result of the work he did to his boat

See I told ya Fellowship would show up .... He showed before I posted ....missed your post some how Fellowship!!!

Cleaning non skid ... Missed that too.... I think it was Sterling that told me to wire brush with an abrasive cleaner...hose and wipe it down real good ..prior to the primer coat wipe down with some acetone.. Depending on the "wear" of the nonskid pattern determined what they would suggest for handling that situation.
