welcome, the first thing to do if you are thinking about restoring, but you dont really know a whole lot(like me) would be to have a surveyor or someone check it out. If you just want to use the boat as is you should probably check the fuel system lines tank etc. look for rot around the transom, there is a way to see if your transom is still strong by putting pressure on the lower unit up and down while you look for flex on the back of the transom. the other guys who actually know what to tell you will be around soon. Tell us more about your SC, and we always love to see pictures.

Thanks Ryan,This boat has the gas tank under the front seat
of the console and it has been replaced a couple of years ago.I believe it holds 42 gallons. There are no cracks on top
or around the transom. The console is original, windshield and all.The screws at the bottom are falling out but over all its in good shape. This boat has a 115 johnson on it.The boat was not beat on.This model has the high bow rail and the bench seat.I am capable of removing the console and preparing the boat for a glass man to do the work.I was hoping to find somebody who moonlights to do the work. This floor has got a little flex in it and the spider cracks are lifting up in a couple of spots. Also I might add probably 10 years ago my dad had the floor in front of the console replaced and that now has flex to it.This had to be done because water got through the cover and froze in the winter.

This one has "Ed Mancini" written all over it. Contact Ed via this site, either by PM or email. He did some transom work for one member already.

Durf,

I live close to the cape, and I swing down thru bridgewater on a daily basis coming home from work. I have completely gutted and am slowly rebuilding my 1972 23'.

Let me know, If you want I could swing by some evening next week.

Rich

mdurfeeh-

Got your email. Will call you tonight on my way home and we can set up time to look over boat.

CSICKNICK- Catch anymore fish on Sunday? That was so bizarre running into you in the middle of Mass. Bay. The rest of my run home to Newburyport was interesting.....thick fog rolled in just south of Gloucester. I had to make a mad dash into Gloucester Harbor and then snake my way up the annisquam (no fog, sunny & hot) and into thicker fog in Ipswich Bay. The last 11 miles home were in thick fog with about 100ft of visibility. Thank god for my chartplotter.

Ed

edward_mancini@hotmail.com

He'll probably explain everything to you, but he cut his teeth doing glass work up in Newburyport at a buddy's shop, then did some work on cSickNick's 20' Seafari on this site. He's a Mako owner so watch out for him.
