The only bummer is that they could not get the prop off. They quoted me 1 to 2 hours labor to "hack" it off.

How about a wheel puller? Just drill holes in the prop body where needed. You can possibly repair the holes as well.

I used a wheel puller from Sears once to get a prop off, I rapped a chain around the prop in front of the blades and stuffed some wood in arrears that could get damaged by the chain hitting the blades shot the shaft with liquid ranch and off it came.

Thanks for the prop pulling suggestions. I'll try them. Can always resort to the chainsaw...

prop puller + transmission fluid soaked on shaft + plus a few taps with ahmmer on prop nut - works wonder most of the time- chainsaw a bad idea- everytime you swing it you bend the blade.
