It is extremly hard to evaluate the transom by a picture. This one scares me. That transom repair appears to only be a patch / quick fix. That starboard type materal has no strength

Approx Costs:As far as redoing the transom also depends if you do the work or have a Professional do it($5K-$7K), buying a bracket ($2-$3K) de-rig and re-rig the motor, adding steering and cables {as longer ones needed}($1K-$1.5K)
