Ha Chuck
I noticed that your trailer was set up with the bunks to sit on top of the chine’s instead of directly under the stringers. I was wondering how did that work out for you? Any problems? The reason why I ask is that where I live in Cooper City / Broward County our City commissioners just past a Zoning law that says that boats Can be parked on the side of a house under two conditions
1. behind a 6’ privacy fence
2. And the boat can’t be higher that 10’
Well my T-top from the ground is exactly 10’ and If I have to do something to make it under 10’ I could either move the bunks down one notch saves me 2” or move the bunks outward like yours and same me approx 3”

Ken,

I was thinking the same thing with my 23. I can move the bunks out to the outer chine AND lower a hole and still not touch the fenders. I don't feel the bunks would place any inappropriate strain on the hull. I just seems to ride a little high on the trailer anyway. I think Chuck has the right idea.

I wonder if he is buying a new trailer for the Newport get-together?

Ken

The bunks are 52 1/4" apart(inside). I think you will find that the otter edge of the chine is where most of the stringer is. I have never had any problems with the boat sitting on those chines. If I were to move the bunks in they would interfere with my thru hull pick ups. Also the farther out the bunks are placed, the more stability the boat has on the trailer. You will also notice that I made a "V" bunk on the back cross member. This guides the boat into the exact position every time you load it. Because of the deep V, it cannot shift too port or starboard. I will post another picture showing how the boat sits on the trailer

Well, I don't think anyone from the code enforcement will be checking your height with a tape measure but I guess you could dig out the yard and lower your driveway.....

BTW: I sent you an email the other day. The address you have on your profile must be wrong.....check it

That just how my boat sits on my trailer. I guess my trailer is a little wider then yours is because if I put my bunks out that far it would sit on the chines.
As for the zoning code I will have to pay a fee for a officer to stop buy and measure my boat on the trailer and every year a renewal inspection. The new code says NO PART OF THE BOAT CAN EXCEED 10’. Since my t top is exactly 10’ but lights and gps and vhf bracket are higher I might have to do something.
As for e-mailing me my Son moved back into the house for a few weeks and I can’t get to my computer he’s in the computer office room. Just e-mail me through this sight if you need to talk. Thanks for the comeback
